I wish the Politicians, the Public, and the School Systems would look at what is happening to our School Educators - we are losing more and more Teachers, is it because of Money, because of Working Conditions and Burnout, General Dissatisfaction, Lack of Support for them, or to Pursue another Career?

We have got to Start Solving the Teacher Shortage: How to Attract and Retain Excellent Educators - Teachers are the Backbone of our Educational Systems - We need them - and we most Stop running away or putting our heads in the sand - - this is becoming a major issue - that must be Solved.

Teachers - Invest in their Education - spending time and money getting their Degrees - only to find out that their Wages to cover their living expenses and student loans are not enough to sustain a livable existence. While we Glamorize - Political Figures, Sport Figures, Musicians, You-Tubers, Tik-Tokers, Etc., and their Multi-Million Contracts and Endorsements - Your Child's Education is at Risk.

Parents - Need to Work with their Schools and Support their Teachers, and their Children - This is an Investment into these Childrens Future.

When will this become a Local / National Crisis - - When Dick and Jane can't Read.

As a teacher that is still in the classroom , I can tell you why teachers are leaving in droves; lack of a proper salary, lack of administrative backing, lack of discipline, student apathy. Administration have forgotten what it is like to be in the classroom, they continue to dump more paperwork on classroom teachers. Parents are enablers and friends to their children rather than parents. Then the end to all ends I can make more money in just about any other career.

The fish rots from the head!

What did Missouri Governor Mike Parson do to make anything better in the last week?

Not much.

If you are a well connected convicted drunk driver with a prior record, then Moron Mike might be your guy though!

If you are a drunk driver sitting in prison because you drove drunk after leaving the football stadium and you ran into a family's car... almost killed a 5 year old child and her mother...and your daddy is a famous football coach...and your name is Britt Reid...HE LET YOU OUT OF PRISON EARLY!

Thank's for being such a good 'family values' and 'law and order' republican Mike Parson!

I was somewhat surprised to see a renewal of Athletic Director Matt Hiatt's contract. Hiatt hired the Joplin High School basketball coach who produced perhaps the worst season in JHS boys' history. The Eagles were 4-23, including a 75-21 loss to Kickapoo in the district tournament. If that's not the worst loss in Joplin history, it's definitely right up there.

Yes the teachers are all very special. You spend more time with kids than sometimes even their parents. Cutting the fat administration building employees salaries and the quantity of them would be good place to start! To hell with the turf, pay the teachers a livable wage.

Again, another Foolish and Stupid Comment by 3:18PM - just to get everyone upset. This person has no connection to anything - especially reality. Probably does not even have a job - lives off the State.

With the Number of Teachers that are leaving their positions there is a Major Problem - We cannot allow this Vitale Profession to be put into any further distress - - We are seeing a Disaster in the making - That will hamper the Future Education of our Children.
