Former Carthage City Councilwoman Tiffany Cossey's initial appearance on a misdemeanor stealing charge, originally scheduled for today in Carthage Municipal Court, has been indefinitely postponed.
Jasper County Circuit Court online documents show the case was moved to Circuit Court Wednesday following the recusal of Judge Jeremy Workman.
Since then, two judges, John Nicholas and Luke Boyer have recused.
As this is written, Judge Joseph Hensley has been assigned.
Cossey allegedly stole two signs asking people to vote to remove her from the City Council. Carthage Ward 5 voters recalled the councilwoman during the November 5 election.

Tiffany Cossey, needs to face the full consequences of the law for what she did. She stole someone else's property. She went on to their private property and physically removed their property and hid it. No different than all of those people that are in the news for stealing from Target, Walmart, or Kohls.
She should Lose her - Law License and be Disbarred and her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License - Again, Stealing from Others is not what you would call a Successful Woman, in the Business World. Why would you ever Trust or Respect this Woman???
And she should be fired from her job as tenured professor at Drury.
One day she will figure out she was used, and tossed.
Hopefully she will figure it out and disclose all the private conversations she had with the people that pushed her to do all the things she’s done.
She didn’t do this alone, and the useful idiots on council were not capable of this without serious outside coaching.
Her life is about to become way more challenging and the people behind it all will get off with zero consequences, unless she shifts the blame to where it actually belongs
Tiffany Cossey, has had a career and life of accomplishments, so why would she throw it all away by stealing and reducing her life to ridicule and people laughing at her. Did she believe her own hype or narcissist attitude that she was above the law, untouchable, because of her Law Degree and CPA License? Her actions while on the Carthage City Council, shows she lacks any humility and desire to listen and confirm to do the right things. With the Results of her Recall Election, showing that the Carthage Citizens were tired of her constant - "I am Karen - Listen To Me - Attitude", will it ever give her pause to Ask herself some Soul-Searching Questions - or Will she Never Learn, because she had never got Caught before.
Time will only tell with these latest Legal Charges of Stealing - If she will just fade away into the woodwork, and out of the Public Eye and Scrutiny and Off the Front Pages.
