Probable cause: Topeka man who hit, killed Asbury woman tested positive for cocaine


A Topeka, Kansas man charged with driving while intoxicated- death of another, pleaded not guilty today during his arraignment in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Malachi A. Doyle, 20, was behind the wheel Saturday when his vehicle collided with another vehicle at Missouri Route H and County Road 280. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, where she died.







The probable cause statement said Doyle took a saliva test that showed positive for cocaine and marijuana.

Doyle is being held on a $1 million bond, cash or surety.

A bond modification hearing is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Here we go again - Another - DWI - that killed this woman - Prayers for her and her family. Where do you think the Cocaine came from - South of the Border - where most of the METH, Cocaine and Heroin is entering the Country from and then brought up into all the Norther States - But - NO - Let's not worry about closing the Borders -

How old is the accused? Here it's 20, on the Inside joplin post 3 days ago it was 19?

The age is 20. The Highway Patrol had the age as 19 on its arrest page and 20 on the accident page. I was able to pin it down but I neglected to change the story that had the age listed as 19. My apologies for the error.
