The area's sports talk radio station, WMBH, 1650 on the AM Dial, has been sold for $1, according to Radio and Records.
The buyer, Hardman Broadcasting, has no other stations, according to the publication. Its owner is listed as James Hardman and the sale was brokered by the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council.
WMBH had been owned by Petracom of Joplin, but that company is in the middle of bankruptcy proceedings. The sale was finalized after a bankruptcy court order issued control over Petracom stations to Textron Inc.'s FFD Holdings.
The station's sports format has not been successful, if the most recent Arbitron ratings are any indication. WMBH did not receive enough of a sampling from listeners to even be listed.

as an old wmbh employee from the 50s..and also kfsb...I alwayswondered why the station changed frequencies...No word on the sale of the city's first radio station in the Globe..which once owned it? Odd. Wish someone would buy 1310 and revive it.

The frequency swirch occured when they moved the talk format to 1450 for better coverage 1 KW,. KQYX is now in 1450.,
1560 had reduced power back to 250 watts and took down their directional antenna system., other 2 towers

I noted the music of your life tag during a Cardinals broadcast when they were seeking sponsors...then caught the new format with no station id or local spots in the daytime..how does the fcc let them get away with that..is it all syndicated streaming from a closet in LA or someplace???
