Globe wins two awards in CNHI competition
The Joplin Globe received two awards in the annual CNHI competition.
Gary Castor was named Designer of the Year and Scott Meeker was a finalist in the Features Writer of the Year category.
A complete list of winners can be found at this link.
Gary Castor always struck me as a bitter, unhappy man, perhaps because he has spent 15+ years as the head designer at a small daily without any real hopes of seeing any type of career advancement. So, regardless of whether he actually deserves any awards for his lackluster design skills, please, give him heart for toiling away for years and years, never really achieving anything other than a paycheck.

Gary Castor designer of the year? What a joke.
Congrats to Scott. He is one of the better features writers in the area.
I have always considered the Joplin Globe like the arch rival of design and creativity.

Scott Meeker is a hell of a writer. Good to see his work get justified.
