When a rally for fired Missouri Southern State University newspaper adviser T. R. Hanrahan was held today, television stations were there to cover it, covering the story for the first time.
The Joplin Globe, which has limited its coverage of Hanrahan's dismissal to an editorial in last Sunday's edition, provided coverage with Roger McKinney handling the duties.
What it did not provide, and what it has not provided since Greg Grisolano was removed from the MSSU beat months ago, is any digging into what actually happened.

As Sarah Palin would say, the Globe is "pussy-footing" around with this particular report.
I am so disappointed in Editor Carol Stark and the Joplin Globe for their coverage of the T.R. Hanrahan rally in Saturday's paper. Ms. Stark placed the story of page 6A, and without a photo. There was also a biased sentence that read: Organizer Aaron DuRall said marching single file would create the appearance of more people.
All the local TV stations led with the story on Friday evening, yet the Globe buries the story deep inside. Just doesn't make any sense to me.
