The board placed Dan Decker (far left), who has been superintendent since July 1, 2013, on administrative leave during a closed session Monday night.
Sears has been an assistant superintendent since 2016.
As reported earlier in the Turner Report, Decker cleared his office out this morning and district administrators were told of the action during a 9:30 a.m. meeting in the central office.

Well she is the only one left at central Office now! She has only spent a couple years as an elem principal and has done a horrible job at trying to be a curriculum director. Check out our student achievement data the past three years!!!! So we hope this is a very short temporary assignment for her. She has NO experience running a district. Who is going to do the district budget?? Tim Crawley, you know the one Decker brought back to consult, yet the board stated they still have no good financial information. Refusing to add positions because they had no idea where they are financially. He was taken out of the finance position mid year because he had finances in a mess, then put in charge of the new JH project, and screwed it up too. And we are paying him people!!! We have got to get a STRONG leader here soon. We look absolutely horrible as a district. It’s so sad to see what the previous board and Decker have allowed to happen. So many good people hurt and treated so wrong. Just to cover up their mistakes! Maybe they should eat crow and ask these people to return!!! I doubt they would but it would be the right thing to do!!
ReplyDeleteCJ.....Neosho needs a hero.
ReplyDeleteCJ.....Neosho already had a zero.
ReplyDeleteA word to applicants. Think twice. Sears is left standing. Someone had to be stabbed in the back by her. Almost makes you feel sorry for Decker. The new supt probably be watching the rock to fall. Thrown by Sears of coarse!
ReplyDeleteI wonder who (Admin) leaked this to Randy. He posted at 11:47 am but Spangler's "cat out of bag" email came hours later.
ReplyDeleteGuarantee you Sears stabbed several people in the back!!!! She’s a wolf dressed in sheeps clothing. Comes across oh so sweet and innocent but don’t be fooled. She talks horrible about everyone and according to her she will be the next superintendent in Neosho. She shared this last year. We pray this board has more sense then that!!
ReplyDeleteWhy assume an admin. leaked it? Not sure if the people of Neosho understand or knownthis but things are leaked by many people. Including board members !!!! Laws are broken by this board all the time. Confidential, closed session discussions are leaked after meetings and shared with community members and former board members who SHOULD NOT be in the know!! So don’t assume it’s admin. And really, none of us really care about Spangler’s email. Most just hit delete when her emails pop up!!! Wonder if she searching for other employment yet? Pretty sure the new Supt. won’t allow her to act the way she has under Decker!!
ReplyDeleteOh, man. Shades of Joplin! This kind of nonsense, teachers expecting a living wage, AND textbooks that were printed in the 21st century beg the question who's benefiting? It doesn't sound like the students, teachers or support staff are winners. NOT a flattering picture of Administration; where's the accountability?
ReplyDeleteWho is going to apply for this position? If Sears doesn't get the main job this time, she will be looking for ways to sabotage the poor sap who does! Anyone with smarts surely has that figured out. That will draw some classy applicants. Good luck with that Neosho BOE!
ReplyDeleteHire Dr. Richard Page back! This whole mess began with his attempted removal to make room for Dr. Jim Cummins.
ReplyDeleteSears really? Very limited teaching experience. Always starting some new program but never finishes it. Map scores in the tank. Yea, this is the person I want in charge.
ReplyDelete3:37AM. No kidding!! Very little experience teaching and very little experience in administration. Elementary principal at small town Lockwood and Decker puts her in charge of Curriculum. In which that has spiraled into an absolute disaster. She has hired literacy coaches who also have very little experience teaching. They have no respect from the teachers or admin. But let’s put her in charge of even more she has no clue about. Pretty sure Lockwood was not sad to see her go!!!
