Former Rep. Ben Baker, R-Neosho, now a member of the Trump organization working with the U. S. Department of Agriculture, took to Facebook today to warn Trump supporters not to go anywhere near any of the No Kings rallies Saturday.Don’t participate in the “No Kings” counter protests! This is what they want you to do. Let law enforcement handle it. In our area they are more than capabe of taking care of lawbreakers.
The left and ANTIFA will be posing as MAGA supporters to cause more trouble and make Trump supporters look bad. Media will help them facilitate that.
You have to be smarter than these people and not let emotion drive your actions. Best thing you can do is teach your kids to be productive law abiding members of society and not be brainwashed by the leftist propaganda.
Take your kids fishing or something instead of getting involved in the chaos. That would be a much better use of your time and do more to help preserve this country by just being a good Dad.
I get it. It’s infuriating to see people trying to tear our country apart. But this is a planned and well funded operation to people caught up in it and use it as propaganda for political advantage.

Seriously!!! Ben Baker is an idiot. Yes don’t break the law, regardless of which side you are on. Peaceful protest is what makes the US great.
I think all of our [R] politicians are abusing illicit drugs. It makes sense; meth is the koolaid; Proud Boys are the dealers.
Baker is the mule.
We have seen the GOP views on the January 6th political demonstrations and violence and they keep defending it.
Many Republicans claimed and continue to claim that the January 6th violence was perpetrated by ANTIFA, FBI and others impersonating MAGA election tourists exercising their constitutional rights.
The many pardons issued by President Trump to those convicted for January 6th crimes tends to disprove the 'violence was only perpetrated by impersonators' claims, but only if logical thinking processes are used.
Trump has a mugshot and my parents don't!
Ben, you're nothing more than an emboldened magat mouthpiece. By the way, one of your cult members just murdered 2 democrats from Minnesota in cold blood. This loser had an entire democrat hitlist. Save yourself the embarrassment and stop the antifa conspiracy crap, or better yet, please put in front of us a full viewing of an antifa member. I will bet you can't because antifa is contrived BS. By the way, stop stirring more division and please do make a comment regarding the polically motivated murder of your colleagues.
Watch for bearded gun toting cos playing so called christian zealots posting stupid things on the internet. Just like Ben Baker does!
Word is Jonathan Russell, the former Neosho School Board member who was defeated by voters in April for reelection to that board, is the republican establishment’s choice to replace Ben Baker. The challenge facing Russell is Kehoe apparently isn’t a fan of the Nick Meyers/Republican drama in Newton county. The party is split on who they want to anoint to the role.
Last month, Russell setup a committee to run for the office and to start accepting donations. He had already planned to run for that office next year when Baker termed out. Nick Meyer’s daughter is serving as his campaign treasurer.
A few other names are being tossed around for the spot, but Meyers is set on Russell, a loyalist to the local party. Russell’s loss in April caught some by surprise. His taking third place as an incumbent to two new challengers was a setback in his plan and worried some republicans about his electability to higher office. Voters had questioned his turn against former Neosho superintendent Dr. Jim Cummins as well as the heavy flow of out-of-state money into his school board reelection campaign.
In a move similar to the replacement of Biden with Kamala Harris, Meyers saw this as an opportunity to bypass a primary election and make Russell the sole Republican “choice” to appear on the ballot for a special election. That would all but guarantee Russell reelection to the position next year and set him up for an almost 8-year stint in the state house. Kehoe and others aren’t so sure he’s the best choice, again concerned by his recent election loss and Russell’s close ties to Myers. Local republicans are also not happy that voters won’t get to choose their replacement candidate with a primary election.
Russell was the former Neosho school board president and was behind two major tax increases while on the Neosho school board. One for the new Neosho Junior High and one for recent renovations at the high school. The Junior High project was marred with cost overruns and questions about overall financial responsibility. Russell also served as the administrative aid to former state representative Marilyn Ruestman more than a decade ago.
It appears Kehoe’s plan would be to hold the seat open until next year’s regular election cycle. Time will tell if voters will have a voice in choosing their next state representative or if Nick Myers will make that choice for them.
This sounds like a typical Newton County scheme. Myers is a snake and Russell is very controllable.
Correct 12:56. Russell's school board games with the City were disgraceful. Cummins figured him out.
