Joplin man charged with DWI, endangering the welfare of a child


A Joplin man, whose blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit, according to a probable cause statement filed today in Newton County Circuit Court,, was charged with driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of the 5-year-old child who was in the car with him.

A Neosho police officer stopped Caleb W. Overby (DOB 1999) after a witness called the police department to report a car that was moving erratically on MO 86, the statement said.







Overby flunked field sobriety tests and his breath sample showed a blood alcohol content of 0.260.

Bond has been set at $5,000 cash or surety.
