Nexstar Broadcasting, which owns KSNF and manages KODE in Joplin, is on it was to becoming the largest owner of local television stations in the United States.
In a news release Thursday, the company announced it has completed its acquisition of TEGNA, Inc.
Nexstar will now own more than 260 local stations.

(Nasdaq: NXST), today announced that it has closed its acquisition of TEGNA Inc. following approval of the transaction from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).Nexstar’s Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer, Perry Sook commented:
