A Joplin attorney is suing a former Carl Junction police officer for allegedly assaulting him during a November 12, 2025 child paternity meeting.
In the lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday in Jasper County Circuit Court, Terence Prigmore claims Bradley McDaniel (pictured) punched and kicked him and stomped on him during the meeting, which was held in Prigmore's office.
The two-count lawsuit claims McDaniel committed battery and was negligent.
Prigmore is represented by Scott Vorhees of the Joplin firm of Johnson, Vorhees and Martucci.

On or about the 12th day of November 2025 in the Prigmore Law Office at 2727 E. 12th Street in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri, plaintiff Terence Prigmore was the court-appointed mediator in the paternity action styled Alicia A. Michaael vs. Bradley P. McDaniel pending in the Circuit Court of Jasper County, Missouri, Case No 24AP-FC00163.The parties in the paternity action had arrived. The mediation process had commenced when defendant became angry and argumentative, shouting curse words, and then did physically and violently repeatedly strike Plaintiff's face and person with defendant's fist, and throw Plaintiff against the walls of the room in which the mediation was being conducted, and further kicked and stomped Plaintiff, who lost consciousness during the course of the attack.
The conduct of defendant and the physical battery of Plaintiff constituted the intentional offensive bodily contact of Plaintiff.
The aforesaid battery of Plaintiff directly caused or directly contributed to cause severe and substantial injuries to Plaintiff's body and mind.
Plaintiff has directly incurred substantial expenses to and for past and future hospital, physician, pharmaceutical, radiographic and other medical care and treatment. Plaintiff has further sustained past and future loss earnings and loss of earning capacity.
The aforesaid battery of Plaintiff was not only intentional but outrageous due to the evil and malicious intent of defendant, and with a depraved heart.
The intentional battery and infliction of injuries were further evil and wanton because they were inflicted with the purpose and intent of interfering with and improperly influencing the due course of the administration of justice while Plaintiff was serving as the court-appointed mediator in the pending paternity action against defendant.
The evil and wantonness of defendant's intended actions is further demonstrated by the conduct of defendant immediately following his battery of Plaintiff, in which defendant claimed to be the victim, defendant attempted to intimidate and influence the statements of a witness to the assault, and when a law enforcement officer arrived on scene defendant attempted to sway the officer's perception of events by stating defendant was an officer of the law, too.
The Joplin Police Department arrested McDaniel after the incident and the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office charged him with first-degree assault- special victim. He was bound over for trial in January. The case is being prosecuted by the Missouri Attorney General's office. No trial date has beens scheduled.

All officers (former or current) of the law are held to a higher standard. While I do not know the history behind this custody dispute or any details of it, it is unfathomable to conduct oneself in such a manner. Such behavior and actions are not proper by any means in a civilized society. Just don’t do it! That said, I can understand the defendants frustration towards some attorneys who act in their disrespectful and axxhole ways. I hope that the judicial system sees beyond that and renders a fair and just verdict in this matter. and does what is best for the child or children involved.
Most attorneys need to be stomped, at least once or twice in their careers.
The Old Saying is - Most Attorneys are Bottom Feeders and I have seen how the Ex's use their Children as Barter for Alimony, Child Support, Settlements, Visitation and their Attorneys - Push everyone's Buttons and could care less about the Welfare of the Child - and get Paid for the Destruction of a Family without any thought to the Consequences. Though Violence is never the right thing - some of these Sleazy Attorneys need to Re-Think how they do things - It may be a "Payday for them" and a "W" in the Win-Column, but you are dealing with People's Lives - So proceed with Caution before you try to Push these people to Point of No Return -
