(From Seventh District Congressman Eric Burlison)This week, Congressman Thomas Massie and I introduced legislation to stop federal taxpayer dollars from funding automated license plate readers and biometric surveillance cameras.
The bill would prohibit the use of federal funds to purchase, install, maintain, operate, or upgrade these systems—including related contracts, subscriptions, cloud services, databases, and data-sharing arrangements.
The Fourth Amendment protects Americans against unreasonable searches. New technology doesn’t erase that protection, and federal taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to bankroll surveillance systems that track law-abiding Americans.

Cameras are everywhere = every person has one, most every house, and business have them - people / companies can monetize and literally film everywhere why be scared - what these so-called "Auditors", do in public just filming people walking up and down sidewalks, going into businesses, etc., etc., - under the Freedom of the Press and the First Amendment and then post you and the video to YouTube, or some other social media outlet. You basically have no expectation of privacy from being videoed / filmed!
Can't wait to get some of that 660 million pounds of foreign mystery meat Trump announced will drive down beef prices!
It's shameful that Burlison is silent on this.
That is correct but it doesn’t mean that our tax dollars should pay for it either,
We shouldn’t import beef,chicken,poultry etc. minimal import of food so we can not be dependent on others, look how we got hooked on cheap Chinese crap…
Except we do have a right to privacy, especially on our property. There is no excuse for Flock cameras to be pointed at playgrounds, community pools, and in peoples yards.
In addition, much of the Flock footage is being reviews by contract workers overseas. Our government outsourced police state practices to foreign actors.
I wonder if 3:57 has anything useful to provide to this conversation aside from whataboutism nonsense.
