(Note: This post has been corrected to show that Judge Joseph Henley, not Judge Dean Dankelson presided over today's hearing. Dankelson will be the judge at Jalen Vaden's next hearing. I regret the error.)
Judge Joseph Hensley delayed a decision on whether to set bond for Jalen Vaden, 22, Carl Junction, the accused killer of three-year-old Jayda Kyle.
Vaden is charged with second degree murder and felony child abuse in connection with the December 1 death of the child. He was the live-in boyfriend of Jayda Kyle's mother.
During a brief hearing in Jasper County Circuit Court, Vaden waived his preliminary hearing and was bound over for trial. His video arraignment in Division II is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, January 22.
Hensley did not take up Valen's motion to have bond set at $250,000, saying that the victim's family had a right to be at a bond hearing and had not received enough notice, since the motion was filed Wednesday. That passes the decision to Judge Dean Dankelson.
Vaden has been held without bond in the Jasper County Jail since December 6.

Jayda Kyle obituary
Two adults were present at the home, yet one is free and the other behind bars almost immediately. CJPD,and the Jasper County court system have failed the little girl who lost her life. Family ties and connections are the major players in this case, its disgusting. Personally as community I believe we should rally against the corrupt law enforcement and current judicial persons. Shame on anyone covering up this tragedy. Shame on you.
