Federal prosecutors in the meth trafficking case against a Neosho man and a Seneca woman who allegedly dumped three pounds of methamphetamine out of a speeding car while being pursued by law enforcement are asking that they be held without bond while awaiting trial.
A detention motion filed today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri says the actions taken by Justin S. Farley, 31, Neosho, and Mallori L. Phillips, 32, Seneca, might have worked except they were caught when their vehicle crashed.
At that point, Newton County authorities arrested them for drug trafficking, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence.
A federal grand jury indicted Farley and Phillips Monday.
No date has been scheduled for the detention hearing. Farley and Phillips are being held in the Greene County Jail.
