Irving Elementary principal named Joplin R-8 human resources director

We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Jordan Adkins as the newest Director of Human Resources, effective Nov. 30, 2026!

Jordan, a 2002 graduate of Joplin High School, has been a Joplin Schools employee since 2020. Having served both in the classroom and in administrative roles, his most recent role has been that of Head Principal of Irving Elementary, a post he has held since 2022. He previously served as assistant principal at Irving Elementary, and as teacher in the Webb City School District. 

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Director of Human Resources for Joplin Schools,” said Adkins. 

“I look forward to supporting the great work that is happening all across the district. It has been an honor to work alongside such an amazing team of teachers and staff at Irving Elementary. I am very excited to step into this new role and serve Joplin Schools in this capacity.”
