Citizens encouraged to attend Joplin town hall meeting Monday

(From the city of Joplin)

We continue to move forward with the curbside debris removal process. Volunteers are engaged in the affected area, helping residents clean up and move debris to the curb. Joplin is extremely grateful for those from near and far who have assisted with the recovery efforts.

The City of Joplin will host a Town Hall meeting on Monday, June the 6th at 6 p.m. on the campus of Southern – Taylor Auditorium for those residents impacted by the storm. This event is designed to meet with property owners within the affected area regarding the FEMA process and the debris cleanup project. Residents may pick up the Right of Entry (ROE) Form required by the Corps of Engineers before pick up of housing debris can occur. Joplin City Manager Mark Rohr states, “Joplin residents are doing a great job of listening and responding to our communications. I urge you to continue these efforts. Monday night is a very important meeting to attend as we will be ready to explain the expedited debris removal process and temporary housing solutions”.

As a reminder, all Joplin residents impacted by the storm are encouraged to register at FEMA by calling 1-800-621-3362.
