Spire natural gas customers' rate increase takes effect next month

(From Public Service Commission)

Spire Missouri, Inc. (Spire Missouri) natural gas customers will see rates change under a filing that will take effect on September 1, 2023. The change reflects an adjustment to the Weather Normalization Adjustment Rider (WNAR) which authorizes rate adjustments based on weather variations.

The purpose of the WNAR tariff is to adjust revenues, either positive or negative, for differences between actual heating degree days and normal heating degree days.

The adjustment would increase the monthly bill of a residential customer using 100 Ccfs (10,000 cubic feet) of natural gas a month by approximately $1.51 for Spire East customers and $1.11 for Spire West customers.

Spire Missouri East provides natural gas service to approximately 664,523 customers in the City of St. Louis as well as the Missouri counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Butler, Iron, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, Crawford, St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve. Spire Missouri West provides natural gas service to approximately 537,047 customers in Andrew, Barry, Barton, Bates, Buchanan, Carroll, Cass, Cedar, Christian, Clay, Clinton, Dade, DeKalb, Greene, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jasper, Johnson, Lafayette, Lawrence, McDonald, Moniteau, Pettis, Platte, Ray, Saline, Stone and Vernon counties.

Figures, gas getting more expensive everyday. Only wish my own propencity for excessive flatulence was of some redeemable value to society. I'd be living in a mansion donating my billions to multiple liberal causes for the sole purpose of defeating republican emperialism and for the study of the effects of climate change. A small, but significant none the less, donation goes to the Saginaw Public Library for its unwavering support of LGBT and anti-discrimitory progressive issues.
