Kum and Go stores to be a thing of the past

Maverik, the Salt Lake City company that bought the Kum and Go franchise last year, has decided to retire the name of the stores, according to Convenience Store Products:

The stores will carry the Maverik name. Reportedly, Maverik, a family-owned company was concerned about sexual connotations in the Kum and Go label.

“I think there was some concern about the inadvertent double entendre of the Kum & Go name,” a former Maverik member shared. “I also believe that [Maverik CEO] Chuck Maggelet envisions growing Maverik into a multi-regional brand, and he’s not deterred by Casey’s, Kwik Trip or other well-respected brands in the Midwest.”

Heck yes there's a sexual connotation with the name! That's why they sold t-shirts, mugs, and other tchotchkes people liked and bought a lot of. Ain't nobody gonna buy a dang "Maverik" tshirt!

It seems like they missed their opportunity to have In-N-Out Burger and Kum and Go share the same location.

Way to kill a well-known, established brand. "Maverik" sounds like some somewhere that sells vape cartridges or some other stupid shit.
