A Carthage businessman died from injuries received in a one-vehicle accident 2:32 p.m. Sunday on Gum Road six miles east of Carthage.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Yamaha FZ6R motorcycle driven by Gabe Royer, 40, Carthage, ran off the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned ejecting Royer.
Royer was airlifted to Mercy Springfield, where he was pronounced dead at 1:59 p.m.
The fatality was the 23rd this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
