President Barack Obama has appointed former Fourth District Congressman Ike Skelton to the American Battlefield Monuments Commission.
Skelton, after more than 30 years in Congress, including serving as head of the House Armed Services Committee, was defeated by Republican Vicky Hartzler last November.
