Joplin schools offer facilities update

(From the Joplin R-8 School District)

As of June 16, contents in the basement of Kelsey Norman Elementary School are considered a total loss and contents in the administration building, except for the IT department, are considered a total loss.


All contents in Joplin High School, Franklin Technology Center, Irving Elementary School and East Middle School are considered a total loss. East Middle School is still pending further investigation to determine the status of the building.

Contents at Cecil Floyd Elementary School are considered a partial loss.

Joplin Schools will continue to work with insurance company representatives and other officials to find a way to rebuild its schools.
