House committee approves Paycheck "Protection" bill

Though no one recalls any workers asking for their paychecks to be "protected" in this manner, the House Workforce Development and Workplace Safety Committee approved the Paycheck Protection bill Wednesday.

Naturally, the vote received support from all Republican committee members and was opposed by Democrats.

Considering that the bill exempts police, firefighters, and first responders (who apparently do not need their paychecks protected as much as teachers), it is obvious this bill has nothing whatsoever to do with helping workers.

The bill adds several tiers of paperwork for teachers who want to have their dues deducted by payroll and for political contributions made by unions.

The repugnant Republican "leadership" in our state legislature has no concern with employee rights as they are puppets of business owners. These morons exempt fire and police from this yet continue to allow their pension funds to be grossly underfunded by municipalities all over the state. What we truly need is protection from these soul lacking harlots of our legislature.
