NEWTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI... * UNTIL 245 AM CDT * AT 157 AM CDT...A SEVERE SQUALL LINE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING TORNADOES THAT MAY NOT BE VISIBLE DUE TO HEAVY RAIN WAS LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM SAGINAW TO GOODMAN TO LANAGAN...AND MOVING EAST AT 45 MPH. HAZARD...DEVELOPING TORNADO. SOURCE...RADAR INDICATED ROTATION. THIS LINE SEGMENT HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING TORNADOES OVER NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA. IMPACT...MOBILE HOMES WILL BE HEAVILY DAMAGED OR DESTROYED. SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO ROOFS...WINDOWS AND VEHICLES WILL OCCUR. FLYING DEBRIS WILL BE DEADLY TO PEOPLE AND ANIMALS. EXTENSIVE TREE DAMAGE IS LIKELY. * LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... ANDERSON...DIAMOND...FAIRVIEW...GOODMAN...GRANBY...LANAGAN... Tornado warnings for Jasper, Newton, McDonald counties until 2:30 a.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Jasper and Newton counties between now and 2:30 a.m.
