Parson applauds MSBA decision to leave national organization

(From Gov. Mike Parson)

Today, Governor Mike Parson released the following statement in support of the Missouri School Boards Association's (MSBA) decision to leave the National School Boards Association (NSBA):

"We applaud MSBA's decision to withdraw from NSBA. Missouri parents value local control, and when it comes to our children's education, parents have a right to know what is being taught and to have their voices heard. Recent actions by NSBA to paint parents as radicals and solicit unwarranted action by the Biden Administration shows a clear disconnect with Missouri Schools."

"In Missouri, we have strict laws to hold those accountable who harass or threaten school personnel. Our highly-trained local law enforcement are more than capable of handling these situations and do not need the DOJ or FBI injecting federal bureaucracy into our local matters. MSBA and its members have also fostered productive and successful relationships with local law enforcement to prevent these circumstances."

"We appreciate MSBA standing up for our students, teachers, and parents alike and recognizing that Missouri will play no part in criminalizing concerned parents. This action shows Missouri schools take parents' First Amendment rights seriously and will protect Missourians' abilities to speak freely and petition their local school boards. The state looks forward to working with MSBA in the future to continue advancing quality K-12 education and promoting a transparent school system."

The party complaining about snowflakes and safe spaces have themselves become the snowflakes looking for a safe space from the reality they so desperately refute.

Randy, can you also cover Parson and his ridiculous claim about hacking?

@2:48 I think Parsons is great but even I had to call his office and tell them he sounded out of touch on that particular issue.

Still the #1 rule in politics is never miss an opportunity to attack your political opponents. Glad to finally see a republican in this state trying to play as hard as the democrats at making mountains out of molehills to demonize his enemies.

To be frank, I think the whole state government would benefit from serious IT security and privacy auditing, and I wish Parsons would get out in front of that with an initiative. Are there any other websites they have out there that are sending PII in the clear? And what about the sites where I conduct financial transactions? Are those secure or have the payment functions at least been outsourced to a vendor who will do the right thing? I'd like to know!

Few of us on the Right dispute that the nation's secret police are our enemies, are controlled by our enemies, and that the nation's highest law enforcement officer siccing them on us for merely complaining about what some public school districts are doing to their children is not happening.

We'd like a safe space from the FBI's notorious corruption and excesses? Of course, not that we're going to get it.

When you read these comments you wonder if some people think the people of Missouri can't do anything right! Pickin and grinnin jokes and all that.

Here's a fact Governor Parson can proudly claim credit for: Missouri is number one in the entire nation. People might find that hard to believe, no matter what the topic is, but it's true!

Missouri is NUMBER ONE IN THE NATION in the number of unvaccinated for Covid nursing home staff.
