Probable cause statement: Seneca man raped 13-year-old, said he'd kill her if she told anyone

The McDonald County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed a statutory rape charge today against Jarrod Dewayne Lagers (DOB 1983). A warrant was issued for Lagers' arrest with no bond.

The alleged crimes occurred from 2020 to 2021.

According to the probable cause statement, the rapes occurred when Lagers was drunk or high on drugs and the victim, a 13-year-old girl, told the interviewer at the Children's Center in Joplin "Lagers told her if she talked about it, she would be killed."

The violations began with touching, according to the statement, and eventually became sexual intercourse.
