Stacey Tracey, who had been assistant director of special education for the Joplin R-8 School District, was promoted to director during a closed session Monday.
Tracey replaces Meghan Klosterman, who had held the post since 2020 and who received her "separation" from the district in November. The board advertised the position as "interim."
During the Monday closed session, the board also hired two teachers, Shahida Birkhead and Trista Dyer and approved the "separation" of Marcia Ball.
