(From the Missouri Department of Revenue) The federal REAL ID enforcement deadline of May 7, 2025, is less than four months away. Currently, 41 percent of the Missouri Department of Revenue’s total document holders have a REAL ID. While a final rule issued at the federal level allows federal agencies to utilize a phased-in approach to card-based enforcement for up to two years beyond the May 7 deadline, the Department is encouraging Missourians to be prepared for all possible scenarios.
A Missouri-issued REAL ID-compliant driver license or ID card will have a star, as shown below, in the upper right-hand corner. A driver license or ID card that is noncompliant with REAL ID will have “NOT FOR REAL ID PURPOSES” in the upper right-hand corner.
Under Missouri law, applying for a REAL ID is a choice, and is not mandatory. However, individuals will soon be required to present a REAL ID-compliant document for official purposes including, but not limited to, entering nuclear power plants, accessing federal facilities, and boarding federally regulated domestic flights. If you plan on flying in the future but do not want to apply for a REAL ID, you can present another Transportation Security Administration approved acceptable form of ID such as your U.S. passport.
A noncompliant driver license or ID card is, and will continue to be, acceptable for verification of identity, driving privileges, verification of age, voting and registering to vote, and other purposes not limited by the REAL ID Act.
What documents do I need to obtain a REAL ID?
To apply for a REAL ID-compliant driver license or ID card, Missourians will need to submit valid, original documents verifying their identity, lawful status, Social Security number, proof of residency, and official name change if needed. For a full list of acceptable documents, click here. Anyone wishing to apply for a REAL ID-compliant driver license or ID card must notify the person assisting them at the start of their transaction.
When will REAL ID requirements start being enforced?
REAL ID will start being enforced on May 7, 2025. In 2021, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security extended the REAL ID enforcement deadline to ease the burdens caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Where can I apply for a REAL ID?
Residents can apply for a REAL ID-compliant driver license or non-driver identification card at one of Missouri’s many contract license office locations. The transaction and processing fees for a REAL ID-compliant driver license or ID card, new or renewal, are the same as for a license or ID card that is noncompliant with REAL ID.
Detailed fee information can be found at https://dor.mo.gov/driver-license/resources/license.html#fees. Duplicate transaction fee waiver provisions may apply for an otherwise eligible first-time REAL ID-compliant card applicant, currently holding a valid document with more than six-months remaining until expiration.
Why are these changes being made?
The REAL ID Act was passed by the U.S. Congress in 2005 after the 9/11 Commission recommended the federal government set new standards for the issuance of identification to achieve enhanced security.
Missourians can learn more about REAL ID at https://dor.mo.gov/driver-license/issuance/real-id/. Information is also available on the TSA website at tsa.gov/real-id and on the DHS website at dhs.gov/real-id.

Our Country has to Support whatever Security Measures to Enforce the Laws of this Country -

7:20PM - That is the difference of State and Federal ID's Yes, the REAL ID is a federally accepted form of identification. It's a state-issued driver's license or identification card that meets the REAL ID security standards.
Yes, Missouri residents will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or ID card to board domestic flights and access federal facilities starting May 7, 2025.
We live in Changing Times - 9/11 - Changed everything - it showed how vulnerable America was from an Attack that happened within its own borders - We can no longer put our heads in the sand and expect to feel safe. So, if you feel a little inconvenienced, that is something you need to learn to live with.
January 13, 2025 - US Border Patrol reportedly captures Russian mercenary carrying drone, 2 passports and $4K, Timur Praliev, of Kazakhstan reportedly told investigators he was a member of the Wagner Group.
This is just 1-Story of why we need to Secure and Close our Borders -
In FY 2023, the number of immigrants apprehended or turned away at US borders reached 3.2 million, which was the highest since at least 1980. How many actually got into our Country - that are Criminals, Drug Dealers, Mercenaries, Human Traffickers, or People Smugglers -
This is what we are letting come into America and head straight for Democratic Sanctuary Cities - Where they are given - Free Housing, Free Food, Free Medical, Free Education, Free Jobs - - Monthly Stipends - Better than many Americans are Receiving - WHY IS THAT???
9:43 people can say a lot about 9/11, at the very least it was a huge failure on the part of our government and it shouldn't have required ONE MORE thing from us at all. Any burden should be placed on THEM, not us. THEY are the ones that decided to have all of our first responder fighter jets conveniently doing anti terrorist drills on the west coast that day (look it up). Ask yourself how did the largest, most intelligent, most expensive military in the world miss such a simple attack? How did two planes take out 3 steel skyscrapers in NYC? (look up building 7). Why did building 7 go down exactly like a building with months worth of demolition work? Office fires can do that? Why has that never happened before or after 9/11? Why were there a group of Israelis found literally dancing and celebrating while recording/watching the destruction that day as if they were already in the know? (look up the Dancing Israelis)
Of course there's a ton more and I'm sure you're all plugging your ears at this point going "na na na nooo, tin foil alert tin foil alert, NPC response activated".
We dont NEED more ID requirements, we don't NEED the TSA. Study after study has shown the TSA to be worthless at catching anything since 9/11.
9/11 was the "new Pearl Harbor event" needed to not only push us into endless wars in the middle east, on behalf of Israel, but also as tool to tighten security at home, not against the terrorist but against the citizens.
You have to be a complete fool at this point to believe that all of the wars we've been involved with sense then have been justified, and also blindly believe the mainstream report of the events that day.
Real ID can kiss my a$$. Oh boy, looks like I won't get to fly domestically anymore, what ever will I do, guess I'll have to avoid getting into a poorly manufactured aircraft with pilots that were chosen by their skin color and sex organs instead of their qualifications... shoot!
I'll be waiting for anyone to prove me wrong, but we all know that isn't going to happen, "tin foil hat" comments with glazed over eyes incoming...
1:29 has been enjoying a lot of wall candy.
