Firehouse Subs, Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen fail Joplin Health Department inspections

Firehouse Subs, 1816 S. Range Line Road, and Popeye's Lousiana Kitchen, 2130 S Range Line Road, failed Joplin Health Department inspections Tuesday, according to information posted on the department website.

Both establishments failed their inspections due to an administrative violation. They did not have their current permits posted. They were told to contact the city's finance department and acquire or renew their permits.

Firehouse Subs also had a core violation due to a wiping cloth seen lying on a preparation surface.

Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen had five core violations.

- No toilet tissue available in the women's toilet. The roll was empty and the one stored on top of the paper towel dispenser was wet and not close enough to use. The corrective action suggested was to have toilet tissue available at each toilet.

-Ice buildup on the walk-in freezer

-Missing coving by electrical panels
