Joplin man charged in baseball bat assault


A second-degree assault charge was filed today against a Joplin man who allegedly struck another man four to five times with a baseball bat.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Jarrod Duggan (DOB 1976) with bond set at $15,000 surety or $2,000 cash.







From the probable cause statement:

Contact was made with Nicholas Noah who advised he was assaulted by Jarred Duggan with a baseball bat. Noah advised that Duggan struck him 4-5 times with the baseball bat while he was laying down. One time in the face and the rest in abdomen and hip area. 

Noah appeared to have a laceration to the bridge of his nose and blood saturating his arms and clothing. Duggan was later located at the homeless camp walking with the baseball bat the was used in the assault. Duggan was taken into custody without issue.
