(From the Joplin Police Department)On March 22nd, 2026, around 8:03 pm. Joplin Police, Fire and M.E.T.S. Ambulance were dispatched to the area of Lone Elm and Murphy Blvd in reference to an injury crash involving a pedestrian.
Upon the responders' arrival, it was discovered that the crash involved one vehicle and one pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The Joplin Police Department’s Major Crash Team responded along with investigators.
After a preliminary investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was traveling northeast on Murphy Blvd. and struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway.
Next of kin has been contacted and the deceased pedestrian has been identified as Scott Crabtree, 54, of Joplin.
Currently, this investigation is still active and ongoing. As more information becomes available, it will be released.
