Rep. Cynthia Davis, R-O'Fallon, deemed the Worst Person in the World by MSNBC's Keith Olberman for her statements against children receiving government meals during the summer (hunger is a great motivator, after all) also has fascinating opinions on history.
Toward the end of this radio interview, Rep. Davis gets into s deep discussion of history, offering her thoughts on the Civil War. "I would have liked us to have freed the slaves without shooting all those people," she said.
Later, she added, "We have a generation of people who grew up knowing nothing about our history."
Perhaps Rep. Davis is one of them since she is heard agreeing with the show's host who claims the Civil War had little to do with slavery:
