Habaneros Mexican Cantina fails Monday inspection, passes this morning; 7 other establishments get passing grades


One day after failing a Joplin Health Department inspection with numerous violations, Habaneros Mexican Cantina, 2412 S. Main Street, passed its reinspection this morning.

During the initial inspection, the following violations were noted:

-Flour and seasoning was stored in unlabeled container

-Wiping cloth observed lying on preparation tables while not in use

-No sanitizer test kit provided







-Sanitizer concentration for chlorine in the AcroClora Dishwasher (kitchen) is at 0 ppm

-Scoop without handle is stored incorrectly in black bean container

-Sewage is surfacing from the floor drain underneath the dish machine

-Dumpster refuse containers are not covered

-The floor in the dishwashing area is in disrepair

-Used employee aprons improperly stored on top of soda syrup boxes

Many of those violations had been corrected by this morning's inspection, according to documents posted on the department website.

Schlotzsky's- 531 N. Range Line Road

Bites N Pipes- 110 N. Range Line Road

Zanobia Grocery- Range Line Road

Club 609- 609 S. Main Street

Microtel Inn & Suites Breakfast- 4101 S. Richard Joseph Boulevard
