The Carthage Press is reporting in today's issue that Micah Holman, 32, Carthage,is being charged with two counts of first degree murder in connection with the weekend deaths of Marvin and Peggy Steverson.
Steverson will also be charged with arson, first degree burglary and armed criminal action, according to Dennis Somers' article. Ironically, the Carthage Press has not updated its website with that information as of 4 p.m. The article was featured on the Neosho Daily News website.
Before today, police have described Holman as a person of interest, but it was obvious when his bond was set at a quarter of a million for two drug charges that more charges were coming.
As noted in previous editions of The Turner Report, Holman also faces a domestic abuse charge filed against him on Jan. 24, according to Jasper County Circuit Court records.
The Joplin Globe is reporting that Holman was caught with a coin collection taken from the Steversons' home, at the time he was arrested on the drug charges. Authorities are acknowledging that the Steversons were stabbed to death.
As of shortly before 4 p.m., KOAM and KFJX were the only TV stations whose websites had information on Holman's arrest.
