Blunt, Jackson issue statements on Joe Biden visit

The Missouri Republican Party just issued statements by Gov. Matt Blunt and McCain Campaign Chairman Col. Jack Jackson concerning Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden's visit to Missouri today:

Gov. Blunt's comment:

"The Obama-Biden economic plan is a plan to raise job-killing taxes on Missouri families and small businesses," said Missouri Governor Matt Blunt. "Obama and Biden want to raise taxes on personal income, on dividends, on capital gains, on payroll income and on businesses. They talk about raising taxes on the wealthy but both Obama and Biden voted in the United States Senate to increase taxes on people earning $42,000 a year. John McCain and Sarah Palin will keep taxes low so Missourians can create jobs and economic growth."

Col. Jackson's comment:

"Joe Biden should know that negative political rhetoric will only serve to drive this country further apart at a time when we need to be working together. John McCain understands that the only way to truly achieve real change and a healthy economy will be through tax cuts, re-investment into businesses and by putting aside these negative attacks."

Did you see Ole Roy on TV saying Missouri workers need a living wage and benefits...What a phony!

He has voted AGAINST every increase in the minimum wage since he has been in Washington. Republicans could care less about a living wage and certainly don't want any benefits. Why else would they always have the support of business owners.
