The Carl Junction Police Department's investigation into an October 19 incident on Fairway Drive that killed Tucker Berry, 21, a firefighter with the Redings Mill and Lockwood fire departments, has concluded, according to a post on the department's Facebook page.
A case was presented to the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office, but the prosecutor elected not to file charges, according to the post:
On October 19th, around 6:00 p.m., a tragic incident occurred on Fairway Drive, leading to the death of a Redings Mill firefighter. The Carl Junction Police Department actively investigated the incident and presented a case to the Jasper County Prosecutor's Office, who declined to file charges at this time.
We would like to thank the many people who came forward as witnesses and provided information/evidence to us, and the other agencies that assisted in our investigation.
In an October 24 Facebook post, the police department asked for the public's help and posted photos of two golf carts that were involved in the incident, which occurred in the area of Briarbook Golf Course.

I read it was some fire and police colleagues who were drunk and drove off to avoid being arrested. Sounds about right for this good ol’ boy area.
Thanks 10:05PM - Where did you read about the others that were involved.
Again, if the others action contributed to the accident and death - even if his Fire and Police Colleagues were involved it should be reported - Names Released and then the Group should have been BAC (Blood Alcohol Tested), since it is against the law to be Intoxicated in public - whether you are driving a Car, Golf Cart, Lawn Mower, Riding a Bicycle, or even out Walking in Public.
Stop the Cover-Ups. Jasper, Newton, and McDonald Counties are always covering up for Drunk-Azz Judges, Prosecuting Attorneys, Politicians, Police, and Fire Personnel. Yet, if John Q Public, is caught driving under the Influence their Names are Plastered in and over every News Service and on Case Net for the Rest of their Lives - let's keep everything equal and fair. No Special Treatment.
He was left by his "brothers" dead in the road there are so many crimes involved in this incident. For this to be thrown out is just a slap in the face to the family. Our justice system is a joke.
Why no charges? Something fishy here. I hope his family further pursue this decision. A man's life was taken from him. Seems like SOMETHING should be done.
If he was left to Die, by his fellow Local Fire Fighters and Police Officers then possibly the Highway Patrol or the Attorney General for the State of Missouri or another agency needs to investigate this Tragedy - The Carl Junction Police need to recuse themselves, especially if there is any conflicts, relations, or city individuals or officials that were part of this situation.
So sad a young man lost his life in an accident!Strange anyone there left him to die!
Where did you hear that? Two guys stayed with him the whole time. They didn’t appear to be drunk. They were quite upset though.
I am trying to understand this. On a Saturday afternoon, on one of the busiest streets (Fairway) in Briarbrook, an 'incident' took place involving multiple individuals, resulting in the death of a local firefighter and NO ONE saw anything?
Carl Junction - Did you learn nothing from the debacle of Carthage - Open this back up or face the consequences of deeper investigations into possible wrongdoings.
To the jasper county court house this is joe pennington you better take acting on this kids accident before you all get investigate for all the stuff you do and we can go higher up over your head to make you do your job the right way and just because they got money doesn't mean a dam thing about of getting out of the charge that you need to file
This would be the second death in the last couple of years caused by the guy that owns the blue cart.
So, where is the public report concerning the cause of death?
What are their names that left this young man to die in the street?
