(From the City of Joplin)
NO Press Conference today. Media is welcome to cover the City Council Work Session tonight.
· The Joplin City Council will hold a work session at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, in the Council Chambers. The discussion will include potential code changes for a possible moratorium on certain types of construction within the area affected by the EF-5 tornado on May 22, 2011. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to hear the discussion and provide input, as Council requests. Council Chambers are located on 5th floor of City Hall, 602 South Main.
· Nearly 2,000 people came to the City of Joplin Town Hall Meeting last night at Missouri Southern State University to hear City officials and representatives of FEMA and U.S. Corps of Engineers address specific details of debris removal in the aftermath of the May 22 tornado. The Right of Entry form was handed out at this meeting. If residents were not able to come to this meeting, the ROE is now available in other locations throughout the community.
ROE form is NOT needed for curbside debris removal. This was incorrectly stated in a local media source, and we want to clarify that ROE forms are for the Expedited Debris Removal, that will allow government funded contractors to enter property to remove debris, for houses in the extensive and catastrophic categories.
Locations to obtain Right of Entry Forms are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Wednesday, June 15. Forms can be returned at these same locations.

Residents should use caution throughout the city due to the number of large trucks working on storm debris cleanup efforts.
The expedited debris removal initiative is expected to start by mid-June.
