Services held June 6 for 16-month-old Joplin tornado victim

Skyular Ignatius Logdson, 16-months, Joplin, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, from injuries sustained in the Joplin tornado.

He was born Jan. 19, 2010, in Joplin to Corderro I. Logsdon and Carol J. Tate.

He is survived by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Robin Logsdon and Michael Rickey of Joplin and John Logsdon and Alesha Feather, Goddard, Kan.; maternal grandparents, James Tate, Carl Junction, Milissa A. and Rusty, Carl Junction; paternal great-grandparents, Sue Crow Slaughter and husband, Ralph, Grove, Okla., Frank Reynolds, Rutledge, Ga.; maternal great- grandparents, Debbie and Lee Cummins, Carl Junction, Nancy Reynolds, Joplin, Carol Tate, Joplin; maternal great-great-grandmother, Joyce McGuirk, Sarcoxie, Mo.; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services were held June 6 at Clark Neosho Chapel of Memories.

The family has requested for contributions in Skyular’s honor be made to the Skyular I. Logsdon Memorial Fund, in care of Clark Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, 64850.

To those who are not grateful for their lives, to those who are dissatisfied with simply living day to day and think there must be something more, take heed of the short, beautiful life of Skyular Logsdon. I wonder at the miracle of such a tiny lifespan, cut short so soon. May his parents' tears slow, may love surround them, may the little one be at peace. Here in New Hope, PA we remember you, Joplin.
