Nearly half of money Salvation Army spent in Joplin after tornado went to expenses

In the first part of its investigation into how charities used money donated after the May 22, 2011, Joplin Tornado, KSDK in St. Louis revealed that 80 percent of the money donated to the Salvation Army to use in Joplin never got here.

The report indicated people donated $5 million to Salvation Army for Joplin, but only $1 million was used here.

The second party of the report indicates that not even that much was used to help those who were suffering after the tornado.

Out of the $1 million that made its way here, $455,000 went for expenses, including salaries.

Was in their store once, a new young mother was at checkout. She was needing a car seat for new born and asked how much for the seat? they wanted $10.00 She didn't have enough to buy the Donated car seat so she asked if she could put it in layaway? I asked if she needed it now she said yes I had her follow me to my house and gave her one. The hag at the salvation store was ticked. TOO BAD

This goes to show that this organization is not worth donating too.

That financial statement, shown in the 2nd part of the story, is dated 9/21/11, just 4 months after the tornado. Donations to the organization and the use (or misuse) thereof continued long, long after that. Why didn't Major Aho(le?) bring that up?

How about an attorney general investigation into this? Not likely.

Billy Long will investigate right after he gets done eating supper.

Long before the tornado i use to support the Salvation Army. There then came a time that i needed their help in getting a special formula for my infant daughter that i had ran out of before my next paycheck. They absolutely refused to help me. So to hell with the Salvation Army, they need to be audited right along with everyone else involved with funds recieved and distributed during the tornado.
