Number of COVID-19 patients in Joplin slightly down, but number of active cases and quarantine numbers increasing in city

The number of COVID-19 cases in Joplin's hospitals is down slightly from the beginning of the week when Mayor Ryan Stanley noted during the weekly press conference that 38 coronavirus patients were being treated at Freeman and Mercy hospitals.

The total as of Friday is 36, according to the city's COVID-19 dashboard.








Forty-four COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the city since Sunday, with the number of active cases increasing from 67 to 75. The number of people under quarantine has increased from 116 to 129.

Joplin has recorded 21 coronavirus deaths, all of them residents of Spring River Christian Village.
