Murder 2nd Degree
Armed Criminal Action
Sumter is being held without bond in the McDonald County Jail.
Previous News Release
McDonald County Detectives and Deputies responded to the Minnow Springs area of Noel at approximately 1230 a.m. Saturday June 22, 2024 regarding a fatal stabbing.
The incident happened between a group of friends who were staying in a vacation property. After the stabbing, the suspect fled the scene. Sheriff's Detectives coordinated the investigation and a search of the area was conducted by Deputies, Noel Police and MSHP Troopers. A State Trooper was able to locate the suspect a short distance from the scene and take him into custody without incident.
The suspect is currently being held in the McDonald County Jail and documents will be filed with the McDonald County Prosecuting Attorney later today.
The suspect's name is being withheld pending the filing of those formal charges. The victim's name is being withheld to give the family time to notify all next of kin.
There is no danger to the community regarding this incident.

Garrett Sumter, can kiss his life good-bye, probably over some stupid drunk or drugged-out argument. When will be people realize all it takes is one bad decision and your life, family, career, and future can all be taken away from you?

Again, try not to comment on the Articles, just on Other's Comments, it does show that you do need everyone to walk you through life. What day is your Government Check coming, I am sure you know that date, so you can sell it to get some Bud Light and visit your local Dispensary, so you can continue to make all of your lives marvelous decisions.
