Sarcoxie man killed in car-motorcycle collision at 24th and Maiden Lane.

(From the Joplin Police Department)

On June 9th, 2026, around 10:54 pm, The Joplin Emergency Communications Center began receiving 911 calls about an unknown injury crash involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle near the intersection of 24th and Maiden Lane. Joplin Police, Fire, and M.E.T.S. were dispatched.

Upon officers’ arrival, they located a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash. They located one male that was unresponsive with life threating injuries. The male was the sole occupant of the motorcycle involved in the crash.

Officers began emergency medical aid to the male which was turned over to Joplin Fire and M.E.T.S. on their arrival.

Despite continued rescue efforts, the unresponsive male was later declared deceased at the scene.

No other injuries were reported at that time.

The preliminary investigation of the crash revealed that a passenger vehicle was leaving Cunningham Park’s parking lot preparing to make a left, southbound turn onto Maiden Ln. The motorcycle was northbound on Maiden Ln.

When the passenger vehicle continued with the left turn, the crash occurred.

The sole occupant of the motorcycle was identified as Tyler Williamson, 28 of Sarcoxie, Missouri. Next of kin has been notified.

Currently, this crash is still an active and ongoing investigation.

The Joplin Police Department wants to remind all motorists on the roadways to adhere to speed limits and stay aware while driving by always double checking for pedestrians and others on the roadways.

Additionally, the department was to remind all those who are on motorcycles and less visible vehicles to take every protective precaution available.

I know riding motorcycles is a hoot and all, but dang, imagine having a wife and kids, seeing someone in the news every single week getting killed by some negligent driver pulling out in front of a motorcycle, and still thinking "alright, time to jump on the ol' hog!"...
You can argue that there's car deaths every week, heart attacks every week and so on, but lets be real, we all know riding a motorcycle in basically a death wish at this point.
Not at all saying it should be banned or anything like that, just saying you're basically telling your family you don't care about them as much as you care about the thrill of riding a motorcycle if you choose to get on one and ride amongst the general public, people full of fauci juice that stare at their phone screens more than the road.

Youre ignorant. To some people motorcycles saved their life. An example being my friend Tyler Williamson. He loved his wife and kids very much and he would turn the world upside down just to help out a friend. Motorcycles are a lifestyle and we continue riding in their name to honor them. Of course you wouldn't understand that karen.
