(From Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education)The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) presented preliminary statewide 2025-26 Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) results at the August State Board of Education meeting. Initial findings reveal modest improvement in English language arts (ELA), government, mathematics, and science across both grade-level and high school end-of-course (EOC) assessments.
MAP assessments in ELA and mathematics are required each year for students in grades 3-8 and once during high school. Science assessment is required once in elementary school, once in middle school, and once in high school. Government is required in high school.
“We’re seeing steady progress, thanks to the hard work of students, educators, and families,” Interim Commissioner of Education Dr. Stacey Preis said. “There’s more to do, but these results show upward momentum in classrooms across the state.”
Among the data are some encouraging increases in student proficiency when compared to last year’s results. Highlights include:
Grade 6 mathematics, which increased by three points to 48.9%
Grade 8 science, which increased more than four points to 43.9%
English II, which increased more than five points to 58.4%; and
Biology, which increased over three points to 40.6%
MAP assessments measure how well students can demonstrate their understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards. The results provide educators and families with information about student learning at the individual, school, and district levels.

It is good to see that Missouri is somewhat progressing in the MAP Scores, but Missouri has a long way to go!
U.S. News & World Report: Ranks Missouri 32nd for overall in Education. As well as the United States, Ranks 12th Globally overall in Education.
Even with the Revenue from Local and State Taxes, the Lotto, and Sports Betting - we are not making the headway that we need to - to give our next generations the Education that they will need to meet and compete in the Global Economy of the World. Who do we need to look to solve our Educational Mess and understand why Dick and Jane cannot Read, Write, do Math, Understand Science, Biology, and Lacks any knowledge of History!
Could part of the Problem be - the NEA (National Education Association), which commands the Largest Union in the United States with 3-Million Members - and the AFT (American Federation of Teachers), with 1.8-Million Members - These 2-Groups Collecting Union Dues from Teachers and then using these NEA /AFT - Funds, to turn right around and funnel over 97% of all there Political Contributions into the Democratic and Liberal Parties and their PAC's (Political Action Committees). Some might say that the NEA /AFT are just Fundraising Arms of the Democratic Party and Liberal Parties in America - all the while our Children continue to get further and further behind the rest of the World in Education.
The National teachers’ Unions NEA / ATF have contributed over $660M million to far-left organizations and leftwing political groups - Should we all wonder why Missouri is Ranked 32nd in Education in the United States and that the United States is Ranked 12th Globally in Education in the World?
Of course, People that Report the Truth and Facts - will be called Nazis and Racist - because the Democrats and Liberals do not want you to see the Truth and Connect the Dots that all this Money and those Unions have all Failed to Deliver an Educational System that is above Sub-Par - and that is why Dick and Jane - cannot Read, Write, do Math, Understand Science, Biology, and Lacks any knowledge of History! Maybe that is why Democrats and Liberals cannot Figure Out that there are only 2-Sexes - Males and Females - Ask yourself - Don't our Children deserve a Better Educational System and are continual promised this from Democrats and Liberals - but they have FAILED for Multiple Decades to deliver anything but Promises - NEVER SOLUTIONS OR RESULTS!
