A misdemeanor animal abuse charge was filed in Barton County Circuit Court today against a Golden City man who allegedly kicked a cat to death.
According to the probable cause statement, Connor Scott West (DOB 1994) came to a Golden City resident's home and when the resident opened the door he saw "his cat lying in the yard, bleeding."
West told the man he kicked the cat and then left, according to the statement.
The cat died from the injuries.
A criminal summons was issued to West today with a 9 a.m. October 20 court date set.
The case was investigated by the Barton County Sheriff's Office.
