The youngest son of Walmart founder Sam Walton made a maximum $2,400 contribution to Ellen Nichols' 32nd District State Senate campaign Friday and a $10,000 contribution to Stand for Truth, the political action committee created to boost Nichols' candidacy.
Jim Walton's contributions are the latest from an individual or group pushing the concept of pouring more taxpayer money into charter schools and school vouchers at the expense of public schools.
Walton is one of American Federation of Children's leading contributors.
The Stand for Truth PAC has been putting even more money into attacks against Carter, according to Ethics Commission documents.
The latest 24-hour filings from Stand for Truth show the committee spent $123,349.47 over the past two days for attack ads against Carter, including $39,326.97 for mailing and postage, $13,000 for video production and editing and $55,000 for network and streaming ads.
The Carter campaign filed a 24-hour report Friday, noting a $2,000 contribution from Arlan Campbell, Stark City.
A Tuesday report showed the Carter campaign receiving maximum $2,400 contributions from Treatment Now PAC, Sandy PAC, BB Freedom Fund and William Hardin IV of St. Charles, $1,000 from Shelter Insurance PAC and $500 contributions from Missouri Broadband Providers PAC, Larry Woodward Properties, Joplin; and Amy Ipsen, Joplin.

Unfortunately, both of these candidates have faults. Jill not standing up against data centers, no show for votes, taking money from corporations in big cities and not listening to all of her constituents versus only like minded ones. Ellen is now backing the voucher’s versus public school system, having a husband who did not have good rapport with his constituents, but Ellen did at least put a hold on data centers while encouraging more information being released to herself and her constituents. But unfortunately, they both back Trump’s agenda, while both are on bended knees to the maga crowd, leaving the normal republicans, independents and democrats without representation. Which one is the lesser of the two evils?

This is a tough race to decide on. Both candidates have their strengths.
When it comes to school choice, Sen. Carter did vote against the change.
Rep. Ben Baker was wobbly on the issue too when in office, and the deciding force was the Neosho School Board and administrators. The argument to the politicians was this: it will decrease our power.
Carter has my vote. And yes the be reason is she mailed fewer flyers (so far) to my mailbox and yes, she’s better looking.
