President Bush concluded his remarks to the GOP Convention with praise for his wife- "Laura has been a fantastic first lady."
After her husband spoke, Laura Bush praised "America's next first lady, Cindy McCain."
She listed Mrs. McCain's accomplishments then said, "If Cindy can do that in eight months, imagine what she can do in the next eight years in the White House."
The GOP definitely has the right member of the Bush family speaking in person. Despite the sometimes unpopular policies of her husband, on occasion, even with his own party, Mrs. Bush has retained her popularity throughout his eight years.
