Page challenges Kinder to four debates

Sam Page, the Democratic challenger for lieutenant governor has challenged incumbent Republican Peter Kinder to four issue-specific debates, according to a news release just issued by the Page campaign:

Sam Page, Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, today challenged his Republican opponent to four issue-specific debates. A spokesman for Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder today asserted that Page was out of touch with voters and was unwilling to talk about issues.

Page said he has already agreed to two debates to which Kinder has refused to attend. Both Webster University and the League of Women Voters have reached out to Kinder's office, but he has yet to agree to any dates

"I am glad to see Peter Kinder is now ready to start talking about the issues. I challenge my opponent to four issue-specific debates in the next 60 days," Page said.

"In my medical practice, I have seen the anguish on the faces of my patients as they choose between paying for food and paying for the prescriptions they need. I have seen the effects of the 2005 Blunt-Kinder healthcare cuts and am ready to take our state in a new direction.

"Access to quality, affordable healthcare for Missouri's working families, children, disabled and seniors has not been a priority in the past four years. We need to change the priorities of state government. "
