The Republican plan: Make McCain look exciting

With such non-stellar speakers as Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney tonight, the Republicans appear to be doing their best to present people who will make John McCain (and tonight, Sarah Palin) look exciting in comparison.

Romney is speaking now. In fact, the C-SPAN cameras just panned in on one of Romney's big supporters during his presidential race, Gov. Matt Blunt and Blunt's wife Melanie, and even they did not look too excited. Actually, for Matt Blunt, that may have been excitement, you can never be sure.

Rudy Giuliani will try to add a little excitement at 9 p.m., followed by the much-anticipated introduction of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to the big time.

Randy -- I didn't realize you were a body language expert. It's interesting that your analysis concluded that Blunt doesn't care about McCain, even though the gov has been hosting conference calls, headlining rallies and going to bat for him on cable news. Yea, he must really not care.

Yes, valid point. Gov. Blunt was heavily behind Romney, but I'm sure that he will do all he can to help McCain/Palin get elected and "keep MO red." It's in his interest and his party's interest to get this ticket moved into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, and I have no doubt he will work his hardest to make that happen.

I just thought the governor might be up beyond his bedtime.
