Hartzler: Now that we have voted to repeal health care law, we are going to improve health care

Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler says that now that the House has voted to repeal the federal health care law, it is time to "put forward solutions to improve health care." From the news release:

A day after voting to repeal the government takeover of health care, Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-4) has moved quickly to advance solutions to America's health care problems. She has voted to have House committees work on legislation to provide Americans with the best possible health care options.


"When crafting ObamaCare its supporters threw in bits and pieces of their big government wish list and forced votes on an entire package which included some beneficial, but mostly bad ideas," said Hartzler. "Many of the items included in the bill were detrimental to businesses and to citizens and would never have passed had they been voted on individually. Now that we have voted to repeal this job-destroying law we are going to put forward solutions to improve health care."

The legislation charges several House committees with the task of coming up with a series of bills, each aimed at a different aspect of problem solving. They include proposals to lower health care premiums through increased competition and choice, to provide people with pre-existing conditions access to affordable health coverage, to increase the number of insured Americans, to expand incentives to encourage personal responsibility for health care coverage and costs, and to prohibit taxpayer funding of abortions.
