Steelman: Health care law kills jobs

In a letter on her Facebook site, former State Treasurer Sarah Steelman, a candidate for the U. S. Senate seat currently held by Claire McCaskill, encourages her supporters to contact their U. S. Senators and encourage them to vote to repeal the federal health care plan:

When our constitutional principles are at stake, it is the time to stand together and take action. That’s why it is important to let your voice be heard in the U.S. Senate this week.

Recently, Missourians overwhelmingly passed Proposition C by more than 70%, rejecting the Obamacare mandate that would force us to buy government-approved insurance. But Senator McCaskill and the Democratic Senate appear ready to defy the will of the people yet again. This week, the Republican-controlled House voted to repeal Obamacare. The bill will now move to the Senate where Senator Reid and Senator McCaskill have vowed to block a vote on the repeal.

The bill is properly titled “An Act to Repeal the Job-killing Health Care Law” because that is precisely what it does. Small businesses in Missouri face rising health insurance costs, penalties and more bureaucratic red tape due to Obamacare. Even worse, Obamacare could increase premiums for consumers as much as 20%, according to The Wall Street Journal. Obamacare adds $1 trillion to our national debt. Obamacare takes away our freedom and violates our constitution, by forcing us to buy government-approved insurance that we don’t want.

You can help Missouri’s families and small businesses by contacting Senator McCaskill and telling her that you expect her to allow the Senate to vote on the “job-killing” mandate. Let her know that Missouri’s families and small businesses and economy simply can’t afford Obamacare. Tell her we stand strong for freedom and squarely against this unconstitutional and unwise overreach of government power.

Join our fight for freedom by taking action today.

Sincerely,

Sarah Steelman
