This article from the KY3 website indicates a bill sponsored by Rep. Joe Aull, D-Marshall, which would forgive Missouri schools' obligation to make up days missed between Jan. 31 and Feb. 4 when the state was under an emergency declaration because of the blizzard will receive the fast track.
The bill had its first reading Thursday.

the united states already has a shorter school year than most of the countries that lead us in student achievement. i can't believe that we are asking for even fewer days of instruction.
Who does this bill help, certainly not the students. Just teachers who gladly accept the "free from school days." I strongly urge the legislature to not "forgive" these days. The students need them.
First off to complain about the impact it will have on children to miss less than a dozen days of school only relays that there are parents out there who don't take it upon themselves to teach their own children. America does have a school schedule that could use some tweaking, but making an issue out of this particular bill based on the fact that 12 days will rob these children of their education is ridiculous and lazy.
